full time Percussion Arranger Available for 2010

by Chris Zwarych in New Jersey

Are you planning your 2010 program and in need of a percussion arranger/composer/consultant? Are you looking for someone to write something that will challenge your students and make sense musically within the ensemble?

My name is Chris Zwarych and I have been arranging for USSBA bands for the last six years. In that time I have created quality arrangements for a number of programs in the NJ/NY/PA area. A few programs I have written for are…
-North Warren Regional HS, Blairstown, NJ (2007 and 2009 USSBA Group 3A NJ State Champs)
-Ridge HS, Basking Ridge, NJ (2009 Yamaha Cup Group 3A Best Percussion, 2nd place Northern States)
-Tottenville HS, Tottenville, NY (2009 NY State Champs and Best Percussion)
-Weehawken HS, Weehawken, NJ
…and more.

My writing philosophy is “Quality not quantity”. Every piece of music is written to sound good, feel good and fit with the ensemble. Adjudicators often comment on how my writing “feels great and makes sense”. I have received praise from many of the top names in the USSBA judging community on the quality of my writing and would be happy to share reference with you upon request.

So why have custom percussion charts?
-Stock parts can be lacking in difficulty or interest, can be repetitive and “Cheesy”
-Music is too difficult and needs some modification to accommodate your performers
-Too few parts and too many players
-The music just “doesn’t make sense” with what’s going on with the winds

Every chart I write is customized to your program and your students for maximum effect and achievement. I am comfortable in writing at any difficulty and making the book for your program's needs.

I am a music teacher myself, so I know how budget issues can be and I am more than willing to work with you to create a product you'll enjoy without breaking your budget. Like you, my goal is to see the students succeed.

All of my writing is done using Sibelius 6, Virtual Drumline 2.5 and the Garritan Marching Band Library. Sound files of ensemble and sections are provided so students will be able to see their part, hear their part and hear the percussion with the entire band (if possible).

Thank you for your time. Feel free to email with any questions. Resume and samples available upon request.
