Percussion Director/Instructor

Springfield High School is currently looking for a Percussion Director/Instructor for the 2010 Outdoor Marching Band Season. The ideal candidate possesses excellent skills in teaching Battery as well as Auxiliary percussion instruments. DCI or similar experience is preferred.
Springfield HS Marching Band is moving the program towards the competitive side of things. Last year we did two exhibitions and went to Championships as an exhibition. This year we're competing 4-5 times and hosting our own show.
The battery has come a long way and we are moving forward in a great direction. The field band is about 90 kids and last year our battery was 5 snare, 2 quad, and 5 basses. We have Yamaha Equipment, light weight polycarbonate harnesses, stadium stands etc. We also have New Uniforms!!
We have rehearsals set aside for the summer and band camp starts Mid-August. Fall rehearsals are Mon. and Wed. 6-9pm. Attendance at band camp, rehearsals and competitions are important but there is some flexibility with your schedule when needed. Salary is based on experience and availability.

The staff of the marching band is a group of instructors who love the activity, enjoy working with students of all talent levels, and have a great time together sharing their belief in the activity. We stress excellence in performance to the students.
Spiringfield HS is located in Springfield PA, just off Route 476 (Blue Route) in Delaware County.
