full time Percussion Instructor Needed (and possibly drumline arranger) for Hanover Park HS Marching Band

by Tom Davidson in New Jersey

The Hanover Park High School Golden Hornet Marching Band in East Hanover, NJ is in need of a percussion instructor (and possibly drumline arranger) for the upcoming 2010 marching band season.

Responsibilities would include summer rehearsals, band camp, at least one rehearsal during the week, and competitions on weekends (2-3 competitions).

Pre-Band Camp Summer Rehearsals:
- Tuesday nights in August – 6-9PM – 8/3, 8/10, and 8/17
- 2 Day Percussion Mini Camp – 5-9PM – Weds & Thurs 8/18-8/19

Band Camp:
- Mon-Fri August 23-27
- Mon-Weds August 30-September 1

In-Season Rehearsals:
- Tuesdays from 4-6PM (Though I’m trying to change them to later slot in the evening)
- Thursdays from 5:30-8PM

For the 2010 season, the HP Marching Band will be performing an original work by one of our current seniors! The student is a pit percussionist. Pit parts are written, but assistance is likely needed for the battery parts.

The ideal candidate would have knowledge of both pit and battery percussion, however candidates specializing in one will be considered.

Pay is very competitive! There is NO sub. certificate required.

Please contact Tom Davidson, HP Marching Band Director, at Tom.M.Davidson@gmail.com
